Some of the other ingredients you can add along with your lettuce are spinach and other greens, carrots and beets, bell peppers (any or all colors), tomatoes, onions (red or green), olives, sliced apple, raw asparagus, avocado, artichoke hearts, celery, cucumber, spouts, peas, raw corn, or any other vegetable or fruit you can think of. It''s a smart idea to change your salad each time so you don''t get sick of them. Remember to use a healthy salad dressing with low amounts of saturated and trans fats.

Adding to the list of anti-aging food you should eat, add a handful of a variety of nuts or seeds throughout the day as a mid morning or early afternoon snack to aid in your age slowing process. Every nut and seed has great nutritional properties that can help your body run more efficiently and effectively.

It is better too not eat a lot of meat which has acid-forming properties, a lot of fat, and possible chemicals that can induce toxins into your body through the digestive process (depending on how the animals were raised). Treat meat as a luxury and add it in small portions to a meal that is based around whole grains and vegetables.

You do need a particular amount of fat in your diet and this is particularly important when choosing anti-aging food. Vitamin E, a very important antioxidant, is found alongside fats in foods such as nuts and avocado. You also need essential fatty acids such as omega 3, 6, and 9 which are mainly found in oily fish and seeds such as flax seed.

Since it is very difficult to eat enough healthy anti-aging foods to make a significant difference in your life, you can usually receive the daily recommended amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants more efficiently through properly developed supplements.
